Some have called it the sport of kings. If you know the sky and your craft as soaring pilots do, soaring is beautiful...magical...spectacular...and thrilling. The best way to find out what soaring is all about is to experience it yourself! The pictures to the upper right are hosted in Huntsville Soaring's Picasa account. 2009 October ... Jean-Jacques Wins 2007 GTA A Class Contest! JJ has continued his climb up the racing ladder and this year beat the best and became victorious in the GTA A class competition. The GTA contest runs from mid-March through mid-September with races held on weekends at gliderports and airports throughout the three-state region. At the end of the series, each pilot in the A (veterans) and B (less experienced) classes is ranked according to the sum of his six highest daily scores. Rand Baldwin, NN, another HSC pilot who flew flew for a second place finish in the A class as well.
